The Presidential election is fast approaching, and I hope you join me in thoughtfully considering our options. With this posting, I intend to share what I feel are vital factors to consider about our choice without offending you. Your comments would be most appreciated.
As a long-time Republican, I am not enthusiastic about many of the initiatives currently being espoused by the Democratic candidate, but I am less enthralled with the initiatives outlined in Project 2025. While the former President denies participation in its creation, many of his associates were – including VP Candidate JD Vance.
Consequently, I will vote against the former President by casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz. I do this for many reasons, including:
- Integrity – I would not hire a racist and morally unfit individual with a well-established reputation for bullying, avoiding the truth, and defying the laws of our country. The thought of having a felon as our President is numbing. His actions on January 6, 2021, resulted in terrible violence and were inexcusable, costing lives and damages.
- Economy – I disagree that tariffs and billionaire tax cuts are the solution to improve my individual financial positions.
- Immigration – I cannot support massive deportation of immigrants.
- Freedom of Choice—The government should not make medical decisions impacting individuals. My wife, daughter, and granddaughters are too precious to face the lack of their right to choose.
- Democracy – I cannot support a felon intending to act as a Dictator on the first day of his tenure. His threats to retaliate against anyone not supporting him are simply ridiculous and undemocratic.
- Real Republican support – there are more and more REAL Republicans – politicians and hundreds of his former staff – whom I have respected over the years who agree that the former President is unfit to be the leader of this great country.
Confirming—I will vote against former President Trump by casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz, and I hope you will join me.
